As a Software Engineer in Test at Parallel Domain, you will be responsible for building and deploying systems that validate our systems and enable the team to build effectively and with confidence.
You will join a core team of quality analysts and engineers who care about ensuring the usability and reliability of our tools and software.
In addition to supporting the needs of our Quality Analysts, you will work with our development team and Software Engineers in Test to further automate and extend our test processes, optimizing for both time and cost while ensuring full coverage of our product features.

About You:

  • You enjoy digging in to new problems, going deep to truly understand the issues at hand and the needs of both the Quality and Development teams.
  • You’re enthusiastic about automating manual tasks to eliminate toil and you are sympathetic to user pain.
  • You collaborate well with others, communicating effectively with colleagues from varied backgrounds and disciplines, (QA, Engineers, Artists, Product leads). You can do this both to understand requirements and to clearly communicate technical information.
  • You are detail oriented and can apply that to both the technical aspects of our software and the visual quality of the data our systems produce.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 2+ years as a Python developer: Proficient in Python development, with a focus on problem-solving and automation.
  • 2+ years in a quality focused role: Experienced in ensuring high-quality software deliverables through meticulous testing and automation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills: Strong communicator, adept at conveying technical information and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Proven ability to plan and execute on automation and test plans: Skilled in devising and implementing effective automation and test strategies to enhance development workflows.

What will help you stand out:

  • Jira/Slack/P4 apis.
  • Experience in a quality focused role in a digital media related field. (Synthetic data, games, movie/tv)
  • Understanding of containerization (Docker)
  • How to deal with and manage, dependencies
  • Knowledge of GitHub Actions and Jenkins
  • Ability to read & debug C++
Location Information: This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work arrangement based at our Vancouver, British Columbia office. We are also open to considering applicants outside the Vancouver office, but they must be willing to work in the Pacific Time Zone. For remote team members, a commitment to our core operating hours and attending quarterly in-person meetings at our Vancouver office is required.
