As a Controls Engineer, you'll play a vital role in the development and delivery of high-performance control systems for Boxbot's advanced material handling facility. Become a part of our dedicated team of engineers, jointly aiming to produce robust, reliable warehouse control software that’s paving the way for future package delivery automation.

Responsibilities

  • Pioneer the design and implementation of control algorithms and systems, orchestrating the precise operation of subsystems within our high-tech automated material handling facility.
  • Design, fine-tune, and troubleshoot real-time control systems, providing essential oversight of our automation robotics. Your work will interface with our unique hardware to ensure seamless operations.
  • Lead the development of a robust Warehouse Execution System (WES), focusing on system response, robustness, and precision control. Your role will involve ensuring seamless integration with our unique hardware and software systems.
  • Drive improvements in performance and reliability across our systems. You'll work on exciting projects related to system efficiency, fault tolerance, and predictive maintenance.
  • Promote a culture of best practices in control systems engineering, sharing your knowledge and shaping our collective future.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing and deploying production-level control systems for robotics or automation.
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), or similar control hardware is required.
  • Proficiency in C++, particularly in developing applications within Linux environments and interfacing with real-time operating systems (RTOS), is highly valued.
  • Experience with test-driven development.
  • Bonus: Startup experience and entrepreneurial mindset.
