About Us
Agtonomy is a hybrid autonomy and tele-assist service platform that turns tractors and other equipment into autonomous machines. A robust sensor suite and custom software stack enable remote modes of operation with a higher margin of safety than conventional equipment. Agtonomy, through its OEM partners, will address both local agriculture skilled labor shortages and broader land maintenance operations, including wildfire prevention through land clearing.
About the role
We are seeking to hire a senior field technician to join our talented team. The field technician is passionate about the intersection of farming and robotics and is comfortable working in farming and warehouse environments to oversee, deliver, and manage field trials for our proof of concept (POC) and beyond EV and autonomous vehicles. The field technician is an operator at heart who is action and solution-oriented, adept enough to manage real-time troubleshooting and thoughtful enough to ask the questions/get the feedback needed to refine and define our next-generation products constantly.

What you'll be doing

  • Adherence to Agtonomy's Repair Procedures: Follow Agtonomy's repair procedures with precision, ensuring efficiency without compromising on quality and safety standards.
  • Technical Expertise: Demonstrate proficiency in complex diagnosis, repairs, installations, and vehicle inspections, employing advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Remote Repair Capability: Conduct vehicle repairs at the SSF office and in remote settings outside of traditional service centers, maintaining the same level of competence and quality.
  • Travel Flexibility: Be willing to travel to various locations within a 150-mile radius to provide support, oversee operations, and conduct necessary vehicle maintenance as part of the field pilot program.
  • Field Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough field tests on repaired vehicles to ensure their quality and effectiveness and that all vehicles meet Agtonomy's standards.
  • Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated with the latest technical skills and undergo required training to enhance expertise and proficiency in field service operations.
  • Autonomous Work: Demonstrate the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining high-quality workmanship and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Collaborative Approach: Foster a collaborative attitude and team spirit within a dynamic environment, effectively communicating and cooperating with colleagues to achieve common goals.
  • Professionalism in Customer Interactions: Interact with customers professionally, exhibiting excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach while providing on-site services.
  • Equipment Installation and Customer Training: Install equipment in customers' homes or places of business, ensuring proper setup, and providing comprehensive training to customers on operating and servicing their hardware effectively.
  • Pre-Service Preparation: Work closely with pilot partners to thoroughly understand customer complaints and equipment issues before arriving on-site for maintenance, ensuring efficient and effective problem resolution.
  • Scheduled Maintenance Visits: Conduct regularly scheduled and ongoing equipment maintenance visits as per Agtonomy's service agreements, ensuring the long-term performance and reliability of the deployed equipment.

What you'll bring

  • B.A/B.S or equivalent highly preferred; technical degree preferred but not required
  • 3-5 years of experience in the agriculture industry or farming
  • 1-3 years experience driving tractors, and trucks with trailers (loading and unloading)
  • 1-3 years experience working on tractors as a technician
  • Knowledge and ability to safely handle machinery, tools, materials, and other similar agricultural equipment
  • Willingness to work in tough environments (example: hot sun, cold, etc.) and travel to testing and trial sites
  • Experience working with potential customers and serving as a key ambassador of the brand and company
  • Highly collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
  • Valid CA (or other State authorized) Drivers License
